Red Rose

Red Rose Consulting offers counsel and coaching on leadership, marketing and creative thinking. I named the company after the House of Lancaster heraldic red rose symbol. The Red Rose represented Lancaster in battling for the English throne in the Wars of the Roses, a dynastic struggle for power in medieval England (1455-1485) won by Lancaster. The brutal conflict between the Houses of York and Lancaster consisted of 30 years of political intrigue, power shifts, double crossing and sporadic fighting. The Tudor dynasty arising from this feud ruled for over a century.

The photos on this website are of the Lake District in Cumbria in North-West England. They are by my favourite photographer Jon Sparks, who specializes in landscape and outdoor subjects, and is based in Lancashire, England. The Lake District is my special corner of England, where I support people, place and preservation.

I grew up in Lancaster, and have a sanctuary in Grasmere in the center of the English Lake District. William Wordsworth lived in Grasmere for 14 years and declared the Vale “the loveliest spot that man hath ever found.”
