I spent a few days last week in one of my favourite cities – Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital city.  I was there working on repositioning Edinburgh Business School with new Dean Angus Laing and his leadership team.

For years I’ve stayed at the timelessly majestic Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street, and under Rocco Forte’s astute operational/design skills, the Hotel just goes from strength to strength.  A fun new brasserie – Prince, a Michelin starred restaurant – Number One, and the legendary Whisky Bar – Scotch, makes for a great couple of nights in!!

Edinburgh has it all.  A medieval Old Town, an elegant Georgian New Town, the famous Castle – home of the Stone of Destiny, great shops, terrific pubs, and outstanding restaurants.  A great weekend break City.
