We are in Paris, where my 60’s crush – Françoise Hardy died earlier this week after a long battle with cancer.  “Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles” was the first pop song I ever heard in French (1962 or 3 I think) and I loved it.  She was at the forefront of the yé-yé movement and was always schmoozing with Dylan, Jagger and The Beatles.  She was, for me, the perfect face and style of the 60’s – alongside my other crush – Marianne Faithfull.

My Beckwood home has lots of photos of these two pop icons, both of whom went on to live ‘big’ lives.  They remind me of the best of times.
