A Day Out in Booths Country
A Summer’s day in the heart of Booths Country with Chairman Edwin Booth, MD Nigel Murray, and Booth’s top leadership team for our bi-annual away day – in an inspirational setting. The Cartford Inn, in Little Ecclestone, Lancashire – the recently awarded Inn of The Year at the 2024 B&B Awards. A family run, 17th Century inn with a quirky, artistic, friendly vibe (think break-out rooms in greenhouses, pop art paintings of the Queen – and Freddie Mercury from the other Queen). It sits in the heart of Booths Country (the Good Grocer I’ve been working with for over a decade now) at the crossing of the River Wyre between Garstang and Blackpool in the Fylde countryside looking across the Bowland Fells.
The perfect venue for a locally grown farm to fork lunch, dinner, weekend or week away and a wonderful place for a group of leaders to come together to talk about how we bring alive our warm welcome to Booths Country in Lancashire, Yorkshire, Cumbria and Cheshire. A wonderfully productive, creative day was enjoyed by all – and there’s no doubt the inspirational off-beat venue played a major role in helping us think different. As did the presence and contribution of two of Red Rose’s Spartans – Oli Smith and James Pattinson. Simply irresistible!
