2024 Wrapped. In Love. Act Two.
December 27, 2024
- Sprouts Farmers Markets. The best place for healthy, tasty, fresh food in the US. Magnificent foragers leading the way in story-sharing and Mystery. Trudy goes to Sprouts every day and I would if I could.
- Maldon Salt Flakes. Simply the best. If you can’t find them, order them on Amazon. Because you’re worth it. Chefs adore them.
- Tommy Bahama. A fashion brand that became a lifestyle. Living the island life. From clothing to furniture to restaurants. Live life slow.
- Stan Smith from Adidas. I wear these sneakers every day. Retro vintage and contemporary all at the same time. Super comfortable and great value.
- Qatar Airways. The Middle East has won the airline wars with Singapore Airlines the only real contender. Qatar’s Business Class is superior to almost every non-Middle Eastern airline first class. In comfort, in luxury, in product and in executional excellence. Etihad and Emirates are not far behind. The Americans and the Europeans have been left in their slipstream. Qantas and Air New Zealand have been out-muscled post Covid.
- Landrover Defender. We have three. In the UK, in the US and in New Zealand. They are the real deal. Not fancy, not luxury, not pretentious. Just authentic.
- HP Sauce. The secret ingredient behind a killer bacon sandwich. I’m from Lancashire. Enough said.
- The Peaky Buggers. A group of my best friends from Primary and Grammar school in Lancaster. Christened by Dodge Moss. Identified by their Herdy flat caps. Just wasting all these good times, having good times.
- The Sirrus X Road Bike. Introduced to me by my son-in-law Heath who, like Robin, is an expert on all things bike. I have one in New Zealand and one in Arizona for riding through the desert and by the seaside. My favourite time of the day.
- And finally to wrap up, the newest Lovemark of the year. Christmas in the Desert at the Princess. A masterpiece of imagination and dream making from the inspirational Jack Miller, GM of The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. A Winter Wonderland and Disney housed in the Hotel’s 75 acres bringing the community, Arizona and the world together to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Ice-skating, snow-sledging, ice houses, igloos – all in the desert. The living epitome of Making Special Happen and Nothing is Impossible. We spent Christmas Day there with Vanessa, Mark, Kendall, Cameron and Andrew, and will be going back this week when Bex, Heath, Tilly, and Winnie arrive at The Princess for a few days break. My thanks to Jack and the team for really bringing to life, Happiness and Joy in a challenging world.
And with that, may I wish you all a happy and prosperous 2025. Full of love, peace and harmony.
